Random Updates!

Novemeber is moving right along. Here are just a few things that have been going on in both mine and Brodee's life:

Brodee-- Work has slowed down for him at Butte Irrigation, but he manages to pick up a few side jobs here and there so he is staying pretty busy throughout the week. For the past few months, on Saturday's we have been going to get wood. Brodee has been selling it to quite a few people. Therefore, we have been splitting, loading, and "he" has been delivering pretty much every Saturday. (Thank goodness only one more Saturday of this ;) He finished up school the first week of Novemeber, passed his final exam, and finished with another semester. He starts back up with a new semester here in January. He only has 3 more to go and he will be completely finished. Sometimes I wonder if his body ever just runs out of energy, but that is proven when his head hits that pillow...

Very sleepy boy right here :)
(At least he sleeps with important things...his scriptures :)

ME-- As for myself, life is still the same. I get up, make breakfast and lunches for both Brodee and me, get ready for school, then about 7:40ish I head over to school (long commute I know ;). I am at school all day...which is exactly where I want to be.

I have the best class and I know all teachers say that, but I really do :). People often ask me how I do it with 33 students in there, I just tell them that my classroom is basically, "Organized Ciaos." And yes we do learn, but everyday is full of new happenings behind that door. I have kids that throw up, kids that constantly want to call their mom because they need to tell them something that can usually wait till after school anyways, kids that call me "Mrs. Mom", kids who are constantly repeating, "Mrs. Boden, Mrs. Boden, Mrs. Boden", kids who get excited over one smarty for being in thier seats on time, kids anxiously waiting for the next things they are going to learn, kids talking in the hall and having to turn the whole class around till everyone is silent while walking to music, P.E., computers, library, or lunch, kids telling me "The Whole" story and then getting to the main point of why they came up to me, and kids who just love to see you everyday because they love being at school. It truely is the best way to spend my time..

After school, I come home, do random things around the house, wait for Brodee to get home, cook dinner, clean up dinner, hang out, and finally its bedtime. Then the next morning...I bet you can guess what I do? THE SAME THING =)  We do love our busy lives and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Halloween...glad it's over!

So I really hate to admit it, but I hate Halloween. It is by far the worst holiday! However, I do love all the trick or treaters that come in cute, unique costumes AND I love handing out candy, but the whole concept and dressing up, I just do not like it at all!  At school, we had a Halloween parade for all the students to show off costumes and we also had a classroom Halloween Party. My students loved it! Since I love Halloween so much (haha) I had to make sure I put on a face, so that the students wouldn't see the true dislike of this holiday. However, it was pretty fun to see all the students excited as they dressed up in thier costumes.

Holly and Echo...they dressed up like grapes. They looked pretty cute, not to mention they won best dressed at school.

These are only some (yes some) of the students in my class with Holly and Echo. Holly is an aide in my classroom, so they all just love her and they made a new friend Echo. Holly and Echo took them through the spook alley which the NHS put on for the elementary students.

These are all of my students..yes I have 32 of them. I just adore each of them!! :)

Rayanne and Me showing our spirit of Halloween...I really had a hard time getting dressed up for this, but I did it with a smile on my face. I guess it's really for all the students, but then again thats what you get when you decide to go into a profession like mine. :)

Date Night with the Boden boys

Last Saturday night, Bradley, Brodee, RayAnne and I went on a little date up the Elba canyon. We built a fire, roasted some hotdogs, marshmellows, the fish that Bradley caught, and ate some jello. It was a pretty good night :)
Brodee, Bradley and Rayanne anxiously waiting for the fish to bite the stick pole with a worm dangling off the end.

Cooking the fish. It actually wasn't too bad.

In Bradley's words..."Gotta take a picture with the sister-in-law"

Wake up call

4 Boden Boys + 4 guns = several dead coyottes

Since all the Boden boys are back together, this is what we get. On Monday morning Brodee, Max, Emmet, and Bradley went coyotte calling and came back with a few. From the way they talked, it sounded like they had a great time. They all spent the night at Brodee and my house Sunday night and were up around 5:45 am to get out and start this fun time.

Changes...

About two weeks ago, Brodee and I finally purchased our house. We were so excited to get moved in and settled. Both our families were lots of help during this moving process.. so here are a few pictures to show what only some of our house looks like. It has an upstairs and downstairs, and for right now, we mainly live in the upstairs...

Master Bedroom...I sure do love our bedspread :)
There are three other bedrooms downstair

Guest bathroom. This is 1 of 3 bathrooms in the house.

This is my favorite room, we call it the 'RED WALL ROOM" =)

The kitchen!

The living room, which really never gets used...I guess it is for decoration and looks more than anything :)

The garage (AKA Brodee's Man Cave) He really likes it out here. He has everything set up just how he wants and he seems to be enjoying the free time he can have out here (which isn't much).

Movie night at the Boden's...Holly and Emmet decided to join us, we watched Transformers 2

Brodee laying on the bed

Not only were we able to move into our house, but the second big change was starting school. I started school on the 29th of August. I teach 2nd grade at Raft River Elementary. On the first day of school, I asked myself after seeing my 32 children, "Why did I choose this profession?" But as the week continued, I've settled in my classroom and come to find out my children aren't so bad ;) I also am coaching 7th grade volleyball, it's nothing like high school, but I guess this will test my patienct..so far, not so good, but working on it. One top of all that I also have to take two classes this first year...just when I thought I was done with college, the work starts back up again. My mom used to tell me that I would have the most 'spare' time while I was in college, and I would always just say "whatever mom", because I was pretty busy, BUT I guess I should have listened, because of right now, she is right. I do love my life, I feel so fortunate and blessed to have what I do, have such amazing families and a good husband. Life couldn't get any better than this =)

Brodee, is also pretty busy. He works for Butte Irrigation still and is clocking in more than 40 hours a week. On Tuesday and Thursday nights he has school where he is finishing up his Electrical; after this semester he has 3 more; so by the time he gets home it is usually between 10:00 and 10:30 pm and he leaves in the mornings at 6:30, so for him, it is a fairly long day. However, he never seems to complain about school or work... I think he just does it cause he has too ;)

sore legs + freezing night = one great adventure

On Friday, Brodee got off work early, so we decided that we were going to hike up to Independence Lakes, which are up the Elba canyon and stay the night. This wasn't a very planned trip, but it was worth it. After everyone was ready with gear (backpacks only), we loaded up the truck and drove up to the parking spot to where the trail enterence started to hike up to the lakes. Brodee, Adam, Max, Michelle and I began the journey towards the lakes, regardless of the up-hill terrian we were about to endure. After a long walk up the mountains, and stopping every now and again to take a break because our legs were about to give out, we finally make it to the camping spot. We ended up camping at the second lake, and when we got up there, there was still snow surrounding the area. However, that didn't stop us...
Brodee and Hailie at the Independence Lake sign...this is the halfway mark for a 4 mile hike.

Max, Michelle, and Brodee walking up the hill. Adam and I trailed behind.

The view of the first lake. The scenery was beautiful, just a little chilly though.

Brodee, Max, and Adam getting the fire ready to go. Between Brodee carrying a tree in the middle of the night and with a few matches, this was one BIG fire. This fire kept us warm all night, as we kept heating up rocks and placing them in our tent because it was freezing outside.

Michelle and I watching the boys fish..they caught 3 fish. They were disappointed, but seemed to enjoy eating them.

Adam and I in the morning..what happy little campers

Adam was a great tropper...except for the fact Brodee carried his backpack the entire way and I held his hand for assistance up the steep parts of the mountain. We were really glad that he came with us though :)

Brodee, Adam and I heading down the trail.

Brodee and I, we were dirty, exhausted, hungry, and happy :)

We all had a great time on our "last minute" camping trip. Even though we froze during the night, had hardly any food to eat, only caught three fish, and had legs that were sore for days, the trip was most certainly worth it.

"Marry me, today and everyday.."

Its been 1 month and 3 days since I became Mrs. Boden, and let me tell you, that has been a change in my life from signing my name on a new banking account to changing my social security card, but it has definelty been a dream come true. I often ask myself: How did that 7th grade "like interest" turn into reality and a true love story? I feel so blessed to have finally marry him! It's been a dream and me constantly saying "Im going to marry that boy one day."
