Our December

I can't believe December is coming to a close and a new year is upon us. Our December was busy with mutual activities, Christmas parties, Christmas, and having time off from work.

These are a few pictures of what our December looked like. I didn't take any pictures of us opening presents (I was too caught up in it to take a few shoots, I guess).

Since Brodee and I are both in Young Men's and Young Women's we were able to take the youth to Temple Square to see the lights.

First 'BIG' snowfall of the year where it covered the mountains and the ground. We have lots more now! :)

Emmet, Brodee and Adam shooting guns they got for Christmas.

Brodee got me a new violin for Christmas.

New baby clothes from the Boden's

We spent Christmas eve with my family. We opened our gifts we drew for each other and ate lots of food. Brodee got a new knife from Holly and I got a new non-stick frying pan from Dad.

On Christmas morning, we got up and spent the morning with the Boden's as we opened our gifts there. I got scency stuff and baby clothes, while Brodee got a powder thrower, another knife, and some other nick nacks. We both got a crib too. Later that day, we came back down to my parents house and finished opening up our gifts. Brodee got a sleeping bag, movie ticket, candy and jerky. I got chicken for my kitchen, face stuff, movie ticket, and jerky. We both got a mattress for the crib and a mattress pad.

Both Brodee and I were very spoiled this year. Between both families we came away from Christmas with lots of new things to use, not just for us but for baby Boden too!

Earlier that week on Sunday we had the annual Kempton Christmas party. It was fun to see all of Loralee's siblings gather and feast upon LOTS of food.

It has been a very busy December for both of us and excited to start the new year :)

Tis the season....

Tis the season...for CHRISTMAS TIME!!

I got the tree up, outside lights hung, and all the christmas decorations displayed in the house. All of the christmas shopping is done and everything is wrapped :)

I love this time of year where my house smells of Christmas, decorations overflow everywhere, and I'm able to think about our Savior!

Baby update...Baby girl is doing great! I had an appointment Friday and she is a very active baby. I am 25 weeks along and my stomach is growing each day. I am excited to meet her in March :)

Giving Thanks

Since I didn't take any pictures of Thanksgiving day :( I wanted to do 30 things I am thankful for...
But first I want to share what Brodee and I did for Thanksgiving this year. It was a little different than last year, but overall it was still pretty fun with lots of food, and leftovers! This year we had a "feast" with a few different families in which we are all related someway...Brodee and I, my parents with Holly and Jordan, Carl and Loralee's family, Eric and Kathy's family, Austin and Lindsay's family, Clint Udy's family, and grandma Kempton all gathered at the high school this year for thanksgiving dinner. Everyone was in charge of bringing something and it actually turned out better than I thought. It was fun to have people to share the holiday with, especially people that you like:) After dinner, Loralee, Bonnie, and I went up to the annual Elba craft fair. My mom and Kathy were already up there. I bought lots of cool things which I decorated my house for the holidays :)

21 weeks and It's gonna be a....Girl :)

I am about the slowest when it comes to updating but after 18 weeks, we had an ultrasound and what it told us was that every thing is developing just perfectly, there are no problems, and its a girl :) we couldn't be more excited!! She was the cutest little thing from what you could tell by looking at the screen ha those things are so complicated to look at and understand so you can imagine I was asking lots of questions :) but after all was said and done and a few pictures later...this little girl is precious! I can't wait to meet her.
I have check ups every four weeks and she is still moving around and healthy. My belly is starting to show but not too much however it's kinda weird watching it change ha I guess I'm not used to that part yet. Everything is going great, just mainly tired, but I can't complain because its been a really good pregnancy :)

Baby Boden

If you haven't already heard, baby Boden is on it's way! Girl or boy (not sure yet) will be here on March 27th. A few weeks ago we were able to go and hear the heart beat...and let me tell you, that little babies heart was beating pretty fast compared to mine. It was really exciting though to be able to hear that and finally come to terms that something is growing inside me ha.. Here in a few weeks we are going back in to find out the sex of our baby. I am pretty excited! Brodee and I are both excited for this new little baby to change our lives a bit :)

Fireworks, family, and food

This 4th of July has actually been a pretty good one.

Tuesday night, Malta does a celebration at the park with food and activities for the kids, and then that evening they always set off fireworks from the park. They weren't to shabby for being Malta.
Dad, mom, Holly, Carl, Loralee, Emmet, Max, Bonnie, Adam, Kathy, Eric, Chase, Jackson, and Spencer came down to Brodee and I's to watch them from the back yard.

Wednesday, on the 4th, we had a BBQ at my parents house.
Carl, Loralee, Emmet, Max, Bonnie, Adam, myself, Brodee, and my parents with Holly ate dinner, visited, shot guns at the gravel pits, and played Mexican Horseshoes.

What a great 4th of JULY!!!

catching up

Summer is going by pretty fast, but Brodee and I have been both pretty busy.

1) Birthday!! Well it's official I am now 23 years old...geez..old! :) My birthday was on the 26th. Brodee took the day off and went to Twin Falls to hang out. Later that evening after the baseball games we had a small birthday party with the family at my house.

2) Swim Lessons! I have been taking Carlee, Jed, Libby, Chase, Ryan and Ren to swim lesson in Almo for the past few days. It's a good way to keep me busy and it's fun to swim with them. Holly came with me the first day.

Front seat passengers

 3) Hanging out with friends!! Brodee and I have some really cool friends...Scott and Joyanne...we love hanging out with them. On Friday night, we went into town and at dinner with them at Shon Hings, swam in the canal by Scott's parents house, ate ice cream from DQ and sat in a hot tub. It was a really fun night.
This picture is funny because Brodee HATES the water!! He doesn't like to be in it. Therefore, the only way we could get him into this "stomach deep canal" was to have him on a tube with a life jacket. It was the funniest thing ever watch him carefully get into the water. He even left his boots on...I dont think a single part of this body got wet!! Ha It was so cute though to watch this situation. We had a blast though floating this canal though.

4) Things are the house!! The chickens are getting larger! They are all laying hens and getting ready to start laying their eggs. The goat "Whitey" is doing good. He is getting a personality. It is fun to watch her outside. The garden is growing so well...and so are the weeds ha. We are going to have carrots, peas, lettuce, spinach, potatoes, tomatoes, and pumpkins. The trees we planted are growing pretty good..only a few have died. We have done landscaping around the yard and we love it. Brodee and I both enjoy being outside especially when it is nice!! We spend alot of time outside :)

It's been a year! Happy Anniversary!

My alarm rang at 5:00am as I sluggishly crawled out of bed to get ready to go. Michelle did my hair, mom gathered my dress and put in the car and we were off. With dad driving, mom in the passenger seat, Holly, Michelle and me in the back seat we were loaded up as we ventured with anticipation to the Twin Falls Temple.

There I stood with my mom in the Bride's room anxious to see how the day would pan out. I carefully put my temple clothes on and left the comfort of my mom. As I walked into the room, there he was sitting in a chair as nervous as ever. His leg was twitching uncontrollably and it began to make my stomach fill with butterflies. Thoughts of the unknow filtered into my mind...after the longest thirty minutes of my life, Brodee and I walked hand-in-hand down the hall to the sealing room. As we walked in friends and family filled the room. This was real! I was finally getting married! With a smile on my face and moments later, I had done it...I had married my best friend! :)

One year ago, that day was as real as it could be. Last year, I married the most amazing man and what a year it has been.  For our anniversary, we took a little get-away vacation for the weekend...we ventured out of Malta (which Brodee doesn't like doing) ha and went to Salt Lake/Ogden area. We went to the zoo, out to dinnerat the Joseph Smith Building, shopped at Tai Pan, and enjoyed the luxeries of our hotel. It was pretty fun. It was a nice break, but it was good to be getting back.. We EVEN enjoyed our wedding cake top. :)

The highlights of our year as a married couple...
- bought a house last August
- bought a Dodge Truck
- started a farm : goat and 11 chickens
- lived with both of our parents back and forth until we finally settled where we are now
- went to movies
- attended the temple
- had friends and family visit frequently
- visited friends all over Idaho and Utah
- aruged over silly things...such as Toyota vs. Dodge or how something should be done
- been busy with both of our jobs
- attended Holly's graduation
- went fishing
- hiked to Independence Lakes
- Moved "the castle" from Malta to Elba (suppose to be our fiirst home)
- has our first christmas and hanging lights outside experience
- family dinners with both our families every other weekend after church
- laughed with each other
- AND just lived life

I sure do love Brodee and all that he does! I'm so lucky =)
I can't wait for the next years to see what is in store for us!!

Spring break at it's finest

For the past 12 years or so, every spring break has always been trips either from Malta to Moscow or Moscow to Malta, but this year, I didn't venture on that long trip with Holly and my dad and neither did my mom; therefore my mom and I have been bonding pretty much every night. With Bordee working long hours now that the weather is getting warmer I have alot of time to myself. However, my mom and I have been busy doing many different things..well actually just one major thing and that was making these lovely curtains for my house. I actually just got the fabric the other day. I ws so HAPPY!! Since we moved in ,back in August, I have been trying so hard to find that fabric that I fell in love with and I do have it around my house here and there, but I really wanted to make curtains, but couldn't found it, UNTIL Loralee was in Wal-mart in Jerome and there it was!! She is so nice and  picked me up some, and that night, we made them!! My mom is such a good sewer :)
They turned out really nice and I was super excited to put them up :)

Also a while back I bought these frames at a craft show and was needing to put them up but never seemed to fine time, until...now!!

And last but not least, the Chickens!! :) How are they getting big so fast, jeez, they really aren't friendly anymore and it is sad, but I do try to catch them, and hold them, but man that is a job! You walk to one side of the box and they run to the other, then you move over to the other and they move to the other side..it is almost impossible and without fast moving hands, let me tell you , you will not catch one of them!!
Well that is what my spring break is consisting of lately, but hey it's only Wednesday ;)

Little bit of this and a little bit of that

Well it for sure has been a long time since the last post, but alot has been going on in our lives. So hear is a recap of the last few weeks...

Brodee decided that he wanted to start this lovely project of building a chicken coop, so you know what that means...CHICKENS!! Yep little baby chicks, and let me tell you they are so cute! This is the beginning of what it looks like, we still have a lot to do, but it's coming right along.

In the meantime, meet the chickens! There are ten of them, 5 black ones and 5 yellow ones. They are all laying hens...except maybe for 1; we think he might be a rooster.

The night that we bought these chickens, it decided that it was going to snow AND kick our power off for 12 hours. This resulted in no heat lamp for the little fellows...which meant they were being held in towels to keep warm and being warmed in the box with a candle and tin foil. Believe it or not, non of them died!

Another big thing, was that we bought a truck! It's a Dodge and we sure do love it! And it actually gets pretty good gas mileage which is always a plus. :)

And...LAST BUT NOT LEAST...the BIRTHDAY BOY!!!
Happy Birthday Brodee!!
On March 17th he turned 23 years old!!

Somethings about Brodee:
He never stops moving, he is moving all the time: working or fiddling with something.
He likes to drink warm water.
He thinks Malta is the "City."
He never gets cold..when you touch his skin it is always warm.
He loves the DI.
Almost everytime we go to Sportsmans, he buys a knife.
He always walks behind me and shuts ALL the lights off in the house...quite annoying!!
Eats ketchup with everything.
Doesn't like butter on his toast.
Faithful home teacher.
He has a unique laugh, you can find him in a crowd of people with one little laugh.
Favorite color is blue.
He really likes popcorn on Sunday nights with salt and a little bit of butter.

Of course the cute little couple..HOLLY and Emmet

We had both families over for cake and icecream on Sunday for his birthday!
It has been a great, and fast moving past weeks, its crazy how time flies when you stay busy with different things. :)
