Birthday Boy

On January 9th, Emmet turned 17 years old! However, since the 9th was a Monday, we celebrated this "big" day on Sunday after church. My family came up to the Boden's house to eat dinner, open gifts, and eat cake and ice-cream (best part;)

Some of Emmets favorite things:
1. Holly :)
2. X-box and playing it with Brodee
3. Riding his dirt bike
4. Working
5. Playing sports: basketball, track, and football
6. Watching One Tree Hill (I addicted them all) :)
7. Hanging out with his family and brothers
8. A clean room (he is a clean person, which is awesome) :)

"Back to School" week..in January

My first week back to school has been actually a pretty good week, considering the 2 week Christmas break I just had. However, there has been A challenge... getting up in the morning!!! Going from sleeping in to around 8ish, to getting back up at 6:15 has been a terrible adjustment. Somedays, I just want to hit my snooze button a million times, which lets be honest really does happen, to just turning the alarm completely off and rolling back over. BUT if I want to keep my job, we all know that I eventually get up and start my day. On a postive note, it was great to be back in my classroom again with my 33 students who are full of energy and fun stories that hardly ever have to do with the lesson :)

Remember Brodee's Xbox that he got for Christmas?? Well come to find out, it actually hasn't been that bad... I have picked up a new hobby...READING!! Yep, if you know anything about me, your mouth just hit the floor, but it's true. I actually finished two books this past week. Between Brodee working late or going back to school at night or playing xbox, I find plenty of time to read. My new favorite author is Marcia McClure..thanks to Holly supplying me with the books :) And right now actually, I am on my 3rd book.

Another exciting thing that has happened this week is the "Story of the Piano." Shortly after we moved into our new house, my mom and dad gave us thier piano which has been in thier livingroom since they build their house. This piano has seen it's days and come to find out, it is 123 years old. Yep thats right..it's a collectors item. Anyways, this piano has sat in an old bar for years, been to my great-grandma's house and sat thier for years with people seldomly playing, to my parents house for years, and now is sitting in my front room! As you can imagine it was a little bit out of tune. This week, we had a guy finally come out and tune it for us. We can finally play without listening to untuned notes...it is great!!
