2 MONTHS OLD

Paetyn turned 2 months old on May 17, 2013. she is getting so big and time is flying by. We had her two month check up and she is weighing in at 10 lbs 3 oz and 23 inches long. :)

I just love this little girl so much. She brings such a sweet spirit into our home and happiness. It's fun to watch her grow and learn new little things everyday. She is getting big. She loves to coo, smile, and giggle. She is ticklish too...just like her dad. She loves to lay on her back and stare at the ceiling fan as it goes in circles. She loves baths, especially when the water is a little warmer. She is trying so hard to go from her back to her side and sometimes with a little help she does it. She loves to lay on her tummy. We have been working with her to grab things and strengthen her head as she lifts it up. She sleeps awesome through the night. She usually gives me about 6 hours solid, then wakes up, eats, and goes back to sleep for 4. It's great :) She is starting to suck her thumb...ha it is cute to watch her as she finds her thumb and then starts to suck, with her whole hand on her face. She rides so well in the car. She loves to go on walks outside in her stroller. She loves to swing in her swing and she loves to sit in a bouncer and try really hard to hit the dangling monkeys. Her hand is almost there... She is such a content baby and I just love her to death. She is so good especially when it is busy around our house. She loves to be cuddled and held. My favorite part is when I pick her up from her crib she snuggles her head between my chin and neck. She loves right up and its awesome :)

Paetyn and I getting ready for the talent show at the elementary school.

Holly is home for the summer and adores Paetyn. Paetyn loves her too. On the last week of school, which I had to go back too, Holly watched her. They had a blast. :)

Swinging in her swing. Very content and happy.

Summer lovin'

Grandma Scott (my mom) bought a half tent for Paetyn to lay in outside and stay out of the wind and sun. She loved it.

Dad and Miss P laying on the floor. He loves to sunggle and love up on her :) It's fun to watch thier interaction with each other.

She sleeps in the most awkward, uncomfortable looking positions.

Very happy baby at night getting ready for bed. :)

After her shots...she was exhausted. :)

Paetyn's baby blessing

On Sunday, 5.12.13, Brodee blessed Paetyn. It was also Mother's Day and Paetyn's 8 week old mark. I couldn't have asked for a better gift than watching her dad bless her. We had several friends and many family members come and celebrate this special day with us. It was a very special blessing, one that I will not forget. Brodee did a wonderful job and I am thankful for the priesthood in our lives. It was a good day! :)

Family photo :) Paetyn actually wore the same blessing dress that I was blessed in. It was a little big for her, but she was also a little bit smaller than me :) We call her 'baby squish' :)

Mom holding Paetyn after the blessing and everyone left. She was enjoying our game of Trains.

Great Grandma Scott (my dad's mom) holding Paetyn as she slept. Paetyn loved to snuggle on her shoulder. It was pretty dang cute.

ONE Month Old

Today-- 4.17.13 Paetyn turned 1 month old.
I love this little girl she is the sweetest baby :) And not to mention adorable!!

Paetyn is a very good baby. She sleeps well through the night and with noise. She loves to be held when she is awake but she also loves to lay on the couch or in her bouncer and look at the lights. She changes each day as she becomes bigger and healthier. She is a very good eater, but takes forever to be burped. She grins all the time and sometimes I wonder if she can see someone that I can't. She smiled for the first time (a real smile not a grin) this past week as I was kissing her neck and made a little laugh noise.

Over the past few weeks, we have been fairly busy. We have been to Emmet and Max's track meets, Twin Falls with my mom, Elba to visit Brodee's parents, to the elementary school, my parents house, and had several more visitors. She is one lucky girl :)

Everyone called it the 'big weed' in her hair :)

She is so peaceful when she sleeps. It's cute...I love it!

2 weeks old and growing like a weed

As of 8:22 am Paetyn is...
2 weeks
14 days
336 hours
20,160 minutes and
1,209,600 seconds old.

Wow! How the time is already going by so quickly. Paetyn is such a doll. I love her more than anything and love to cuddle her cubbiness :) She is such a good baby. We all call her "P" for short and the nickname is already sticking. We went to the Dr. on Tuesday and she is weighing 6 lbs 9 oz. She has gained weighted...yay!!

Already in two weeks, I have learned so much about her...
She has the cutiest personality. Sometimes she will just grin to grin regardless of the situation (I wonder what she is thinking about).
She has beautiful, tan skin.
She looks likes Brodee, but she has my lush lips.
She hates being swaddled. She loves to just be wrapped up in a blanket or right next to my body.
She sleeps in 4 hour or longer intervals. I feed her at 9:30, 1:30 and 6:30 during the night.
She makes insane noises that make Brodee and I both giggle.
She makes the cutests faces. I can't take them serious because they crack me up each time.
She has a poop face. ha it is quite commical to watch, BUT at least I know when a dirty diaper is in sight.

She knows the sound of my voice. She perks up (when she is awake) when I speak...it's so special, I love it.
She rides in the car extremely well.
She hates to be without clothes on and even a diaper change gets her mad.
She doesn't like sponge baths. We haven't given her a full 'in water' bath yet because her umbilical cord hadn't fallen off, BUT it feel off today :) She will probably hate baths too, but we'll see.
She loves to look at the can lights in our kitchen and the light from the window.
She sleeps through any noise, even the vacuum cleaner.
She loves to be held. Her grandma Scott loves to hold her...so it works well for both of them :)

We skype with Holly and I lay her on the couch and put the computer screen down so that Holly is able to see her and Paetyn grins everytime she hears Holly's voice. It is fun to watch her.
She loves, loves her face! Her hands are constantly up by her face.
She is a good self soother. If she hasn't fallen completely to sleep after a feeding, I will lay her in her crib and with a few of those noises, she falls right to sleep.
She sleeps just like me--hands by face and mouth wide open.

She loves to lay in our bed in the morning after Brodee has gone to work and snuggle with me. (I don't know if she enjoys it, but I sure do)

Paetyn is changing everyday and it's fun to watch. I love being a mommy and getting to stay home with her. There is no greater blessing.

Paetyn Colleen Boden

Paetyn is finally here...weighing in at 6 pounds 6 oz and 18.5 inches long, she finally made it to us on March 17, 2013. Yes, it is St. Patricks Day, but it's also Brodee's birthday...She now shares a birthday with her dad. He's pretty excited, and not to mention that was probably the best birthday gift he got this year ;)

I thought I would tell you how this little munchkin was born...

On Saturday the 16th my mom, Loralee, and Kathy hosted a baby shower for me. It turned out great and I got many wonderful things from people who came and who sent their gifts. We ate delicious food, played a fun game (thanks Lindsay), opened gifts, and talked among ourselves. One of my dear college friends who lives super close, Michelle, came down for the big day...little did she know that wasn't even the big day at all. All day, I was pretty tired because the night before I had been up for a good hour or more in constant pain. It felt like bad cramps. I called into the birthing and delivery center that night and told them what was going on, but as far as they could help they said to sit in a bath of warm water or come in and they would hook me up to a monitor. I tried the bath and it helped. It eased the pain enough to climb back into bed and fall asleep. On Saturday though when I woke up, I didn't have pain and I carried on with my day. Later that night after all the commotion was over (we even celebrated Brodee's birthday with a little party) and I was able to relax, I had a few pains, but not enough to bother anyone with, so I didn't say anything. ha.

That night on the 17th, about 3:15 I woke up and had bad, bad cramps, they were very painful. I started to time them and they were less than 5 minutes apart. I knew this was it. My Dr. had told me that where we live in Malta, that if the contractions were 10 minutes apart to get in to the hospital promptly. So, you can imagine we booked it into town. The closer we got to the hospital the closer my contractions became. 2 minutes apart. Brodee drove at a good speed(100 mph) and got us there regardless of the snow and wind blowing. We left Malta at 3:45 am and got into the hospital at 4:05 am. Record time. When we pulled up to the emergency room doors they had a wheelchair waiting for me (first time riding in one). I had called the birthing and delivery center on the way in so they were aware of what the situation was. They wheeled me pretty fast down the hall and into one of the delivery rooms. I changed out of what I was wearing and into those stylish robes :) They hooked me up to a monitor, go my IV into my arm for my penicillin, and drew my blood. By this time my Dr. had showed up and was ready to go. Now it was the waiting game. At 5:00 they checked me and I was dilated to 6. My contractions were close together and I could watch them on the monitor (not sure yet if that was a good idea or not). It took from 6:00 when they checked me and I was at a 7 until 8:00 to reach a 10. By 8:00 I was ready for this baby to be here. However, they couldn't break my water until it was 8:00 because I had to have 2 dosages of penicillin in my system in 4 hours and it was barely reaching 4 hours. As soon as the clock struck 8, the Dr. broke my water and 22 minutes later at 8:22, I met my precious daughter.I delivered this baby without any pain medication. It was all natural. It was love at first sight. She was so beautiful and peaceful. I could feel a little bit of heaven in my arms as they set her on me. She was having a hard time breathing so as soon as they wiped her off they took her and did an oxygen treatment on her for about 15 minutes. As soon as those 15 minutes were over, she was breathing and her heart rate was normal. Then I was able to hold her :) Those moments of holding her I will never forget. I had often heard before that you don't remember the pain of giving birth, and it's true. As soon as she was here the pain that I had experienced for 22 minutes became a blur. Holly and my mom ended up staying in the room and helping. They kept telling me to tell them when they wanted them to leave because everyone knew it was going to be just Brodee and I, but as soon as it was 8:00 I became to the point where I didn't care. ha. Brodee told them to stay and they were able to watch as Paetyn was born. It was very special and I will  never forget that experience.

After I moved into a room in the birth and delivery center and was cleaned up, we had many visitors, both family and friends. Everyone loved up on Paetyn and held her constantly. We stayed the night Sunday to Monday and was planning on coming home Monday morning sometime, but when the nurses came in to check Paetyn, she ended up having a bit of jaundice. The Dr. came in and decided to keep her another night and have her soak up the "sun" in the lights. We ended up actually leaving on Tuesday morning around 10:00. Brodee did so good at the hospital. If you know him, he doesn't like to be inside cooped up. However, he did extremely well to sit in a room with nothing to do for 2 days. When we were able to go home, it was such a good feeling it had felt like we had been on vacation. It was nice to pull into our driveway and be home.

As of right now, Paetyn is doing great. We went to the Dr. last Thursday and she weighed 6 lbs. 1 oz. she lost a little of her birth weight before we left the hospital so she doing good now and eating. She even grew a 1/2 inch. She is now 19 inches long. We go back to the Dr. tomorrow for her to get her PKU test.

As for Brodee and I we are doing great. I am healing and learning to live life with a baby. It has been a change for both of us but we are adjusting quite well. Brodee is back to work and busier than ever. It has been such a blessing in our lives to have Paetyn in our home. We love her more than anything. I didn't ever think that I could love someone so much especially where she is so tiny. But I do. :)

Almost 31 weeks

I thought I would take one of those awkward pictures where you don't know what to do and post it of my belly. It's not just seeming that my belly is getting bigger and bigger which makes it look like I'm actually pregnant and not just fat ;)

10. Families are Forever.
I am blessed to have been raised in the family I was and starting my own family makes me feel blessed to know that Families are Forever :)
When Jordan got home, we took family pictures.

11. Friends!!
Brodee and I have some pretty good friends that we are able to hang out with. We do fun things such as go swimming, floating down a canal, go to movies, out to dinner, bunny bashing, ride bikes up in the moutains, go clay pigeon shoots, and visiting at each others homes. In November, one of Brodee's good friends Jory, was married and we were able to attend thier Temple Wedding and Reception:)

12. Being a Homeowner
Since we own our first home there are certainly tasks and responsibilities to do in order for it to look nice. This past year we were able to do landscaping: we put in a road to the back lot, planted over 50 trees including fruit trees, added flowers to a new flower bed in the back, and finished up the chicken coop. Inside, we were able to buy new furniture for the upstairs and take the other furniture downstairs. We are starting to fill our home with new and fun things.

This past year of 2012 has certainly been a blessing in our lives. We enjoy living where we do and making the best of it each and every day.

Happy New Year!! :)
